Hancock Regional Hospital Volunteers

The Hancock Regional Hospital Volunteers sponsor a number of projects and fundraising events throughout the year. Profits generated from events as well as through the Gift Shop are returned to the hospital and community in the form of donated equipment, scholarships, community wellness programs, and financial assistance to hospital departments with special requests.

Our volunteers have donated equipment in excess of $1 million dollars in value. They also support the future of higher education and has awarded $7,000 in scholarships to active volunteers attending college since 2014.

Our mission

Our volunteers directly affect patients by adding a personal touch to their care, giving compassionate guidance to families, providing ancillary services to staff and promoting the hospital’s excellence in the community.

Join our team

We have more than 350 volunteers at Hancock Health who provide more than 56,000 hours of service annually.

Our volunteer program director reviews all applications. New volunteers are invited to attend hospital orientation and specific one-on-one training. Apply online today, or call (317) 468-4252 to get started.

Our volunteers are assigned permanent or substitute shifts between the hours of 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. During that time, volunteers usually work a four- to six-hour shift. Volunteers are also welcome to shadow an experienced volunteer in an area of interest before they officially volunteer to see whether it would be a good fit.
