Visiting the Hospital
Whether you’re coming to us for an appointment, a test, or to visit a friend, you’re in good hands. As of August 31, 2022 we have officially opened up visitation, we will allow all children to visit in all areas they were allowed to visit prior to COVID 19. There is no age restriction.
- Emergency Department: two designated visitors per patient
- Andis: two patients per patient room at one time (8am – 8pm) and one support person may stay overnight. Siblings may visit as long as no symptoms of illness.
- Surgery: Patients may have two visitors in Same Day.
- Hospice: two visitors per patient room at one time (8am – 8pm) and one visitor may spend the night
- Acute Care (non-COVID): Open visitation (8am – 8pm)

**We ask those two years of age and older to wear a mask and those experiencing symptoms of COVID or other illness, not to visit until symptoms resolve.

Keeping Your Appointment With Us
Really, most of what we do is unrelated to COVID-19. Instead, it involves everything from routine visits to handling chronic health conditions. But no matter what you need, there are a few new procedures you can expect at all our facilities:
- All visitors and patients are screened prior to appointment and visitation at the hospital entrance.
- Our waiting rooms are open and allow patients to follow social distancing protocols.
- We’re using virtual visits more than ever before.
- If you don’t have a mask, we’ll have one for you.
- We’ll help you schedule your appointments and tests and help you notify us when you’ve arrived in our parking lot. You’ll skip the waiting room.
- If you need routine care, call your Hancock primary care physician. You’ll find contact information here.
Virtual Appointments
There are times when you don’t need to see a doctor in person to get answers to your healthcare questions. Consider virtual visits. Most of our offices schedule telehealth appointments, so you don’t need to leave home to talk with your doctor. Learn more.
Save Your Spot and Don't Wait in Line
Because maintaining social distancing is good for everyone’s health, we’ve added a convenient Save Your Spot service. This tool acts like a virtual waiting room, letting you know how long waits are for lab work, X-rays, and immediate care. It also lets you reserve your spot in line and notifies you when it’s your turn.
Keeping Our Patients Safe and Healthy
Making sure everyone who enters our facilities is safe and healthy is our top priority. So as we continue to work together to stop the spread of COVID-19, in addition to social distancing and mask wearing, we are:
- Ensuring that our staff is healthy, including testing them for COVID-19, requiring them to wear masks, taking their temperatures and complying with the CDC regulations for social distancing when possible
- Asking anyone who enters our facilities screening questions
- Limiting one visitor per patient at Hancock Regional Hospital
