Mental and emotional health are important to each person’s overall wellness. Hancock Health offers outpatient mental health and counseling services for adults, families, and children in a variety of forms and settings. Our counseling staff includes licensed clinical social workers and psychologists as well as psychiatrists.
Our Reflections program at Hancock Regional Hospital offers inpatient services for senior adults with mental, emotional, or medical needs requiring closer medical care.

Treatment for Each Individual
Our staff takes an integrated approach to mental healthcare. Following an initial assessment, we connect you with the combination of services that will best help you. This may involve counseling, group therapy, medication, or other treatments.
Counseling
Hancock Health offers counseling individually or to couples and families. We offer group therapy around many common mental health issues. Reflections Senior Care
Our inpatient Reflections program assists senior adults with emotional, mental, and medical needs that require extra care. Reflections is a safe and secure environment available 24 hours a day—to provide a more satisfying life for older adults and peace of mind for their families.
Reflections Services
Services include:
- Crisis stabilization
- Individual, group, and family therapy
- Recreational, occupational, and physical therapy
- Medication management
- Spiritual counseling
Reflections Staff
Reflections offers a specially trained support staff to deal with the unique needs and concerns of older adults. Reflections staff includes:
- Psychiatrists
- Psychologists
- Primary care physicians
- Registered nurses
- Licensed social workers
- Therapeutic recreation specialists
- Occupational therapists
Family Support
The patient’s family is considered a very important part of the treatment team and the family is encouraged to participate in family conferences, discharge planning, and weekly support groups.
Patient Referral
Patients are referred to Reflections by physicians, mental health professionals, family members or concerned others.
Patient Assessment
The initial assessment is free, confidential, and conducted by a Reflections professional. It may include preadmission telephone screening and/or personal evaluation.
Warning Signs
Warning signs that may indicate the need for treatment include:
- Withdrawal from social contact
- Loss of interest in normal activities and appearance
- Panic attacks
- Severe change in eating or sleeping habits
- Substance abuse
- Talk about death
- Suicide threats and attempts
