Aquatics and Sports Medicine

Aquatics and Sports Medicine

The Hancock Health Aquatics and Sports Medicine program is located at the Hancock Wellness Center in Greenfield. We offer individualized training and rehabilitation programs. Among other things, this can help recovering patients make a timely transition from aquatic- to land-based therapy. Facilities include a warm-water pool for greater comfort. Services include:

Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapists help people of all ages learn—or relearn—the skills they need for increased independence in their day-to-day lives. They work to help people learn bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene, and activities essential to daily living, work, and play. Hancock Health occupational therapists work with patients in the hospital, in patients’ homes, and at other Hancock County locations. They evaluate and treat a wide range of conditions, including:

  • Orthopedic injuries
  • Decreased strength
  • Range of motion deficits

  • Psychiatric disorders

Physical Therapy

Physical therapists evaluate, treat, and help prevent illness and injury resulting from orthopedic, neurological or developmental causes. They work with people of all ages, using education and exercise to promote wellness, restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities. Hancock Health physical therapists are certified in ASTYM therapy, a leading-edge approach to stimulating the body’s capacity for healing itself. They evaluate musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions and treat patients across the continuum of care including:

  • Back, neck, and joint pain

Speech Therapy

Speech Therapy

The speech pathologists at Hancock Regional Hospital provide evaluation and treatment of communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. All speech pathologists are certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Services include:

  • Inpatient, outpatient, and rehabilitation evaluation and treatment for adult speech/language/cognitive/swallowing disorder.
  • Laryngectomy treatment
  • Voice rehabilitation
  • Vocal cord disorder treatment
  • Videostroboscopy to evaluate vocal cord function
  • Dysphagia evaluation and videofluroscopic swallowing studies
